On this forum, there will probably be "official" rules, but as with the original forum, there are 4 rules everyone needs to remember: No discussions about Religion, No discussions about Politics, Don't be a Dick!, Have Fun!

Random question, how do I change my avatar from the question mark to a photo/picture?

Good Question! I'm glad you asked!

On the top right hand side of the website, under the search bar, you will see an icon that kind of looks like a person(?). Click on that. Then you go to the "Profile" tab. In the Profile section you will see a link for "Edit Avatar."

The rules for an avatar in this forum software are: "Maximum dimensions; width: 90 pixels, height: 90 pixels, file size: 391.00 KiB." Which is very specific.

BUT...because I figured everyone will want an easy way to create an avatar, I came up with: 90 × 90 Avatar Maker

Click on that link and you will be taken to a page where you can upload any image, crop it to the size you want, then save, and it will save as the perfect size to use for your avatar. :ok:

Let me know if you have any other questions!

I’ve tried a few photos but they come out blurry? Is that right?

Simple answer is: :dunno:

I guess upload the avatar here and see if it is still to blurry for you? I'll also do some testing on my end. Maybe there's a way for me to ensure it's not so blurry.

Okay, I edited the script a bit to give you a sharper image. You might need to force reload the page to get to the new script. (Ctrl + F5 or Ctrl + Shift + R). You will know that you are on the right page if you see a checkbox that says "Sharpen Final Image" at the top.

Here's a before and after using a photo of my mom.
