Privacy booth – Privacy booths are found in various establishments; they are mostly mentioned in clubs, restaurants, and bars. From Judgment in Death: Roarke stepped into the tube ... Ricker moved into the privacy dome and sat as the opening whisked shut behind him. They could see out of the booth and, instead of a server, there was a menu and a serving slot.[1]
- Tobacco is allowed in closed privacy booths.[2]
- At the Athame Club, some tables flanking the dance floor were tubed for privacy; some were smoked so that silhouettes of couples in various states of fornication wavered against the glass to entertain the crowd. All were coated with a shiny black lacquer that made them resemble small, dark pools.[3]
- Lobar opened the door on a privacy tube and stepped in. He punched out a selection on the electronic menu and adjusted his chair so he could see the view screen; the drinks came out of a serving slot.[4]
- The Nova Club had a quietly elegant atmosphere, a snazzy little bar, with pretty silver-topped tables, and pale blue privacy booths.[5]
- There were some privacy booths and some were already occupied with couples or small groups smoking what was likely illegal substances inside the domes, or groping each other.[6]
