Eve interviews a person, and upon finding him not involved in the case she was investigating gives him her card because he complained he was used to cops giving him the evil eye due to previous misdeeds. Mira observing this, compliments Eve, saying that was "well done".

I think this was in Kindred. Eve met Dr. Mira at Columbia and then took her with her to her next interview. The guy you're refering to (I can't remember his name) was young and had been used by his older brother. That's how he had gotten into trouble, but he was working now and trying to stay straight. That's why Eve gave him her card, in case anyone else bothered him.
