You know me, I very very rarely start one of these threads, I just give my opinion on them.

But today, Katie and I were watching Drop Dead Diva. They don't have cable, but they have Netflix streamed through their PS3. We were looking for something fun to watch while I babysat Danielle and took care of/just hung out with Katie while she's still so sick. We settled on this. Really cute show, BTW. I need to get season 2 and watch it (we're finishing season 1 tomorrow).

Anyways, the male lead, Jackson Hurst, strikes me as a good Roarke candidate. I kept thinking "I KNOW that guy." Turns out I didn't (looked him up on IMDB and had never seen him in anything), but he's a dead ringer for Aidan Turner, which is why I thought I knew him...Jackson's just sexier and a better actor, IMO.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1938755/resumephotos?v=me706666044

I have no idea if he could do the accent, but he's very similar to Roarke, physically anyways. Tall, lanky, black hair, blue eyes, chiseled features etc. He's a bit young yet (32), but still pretty close.

I went and had a look at this guy, Jen. I'll agree with you he is a very nice speciman. A real hottie even!

I could see him as Roarke. The pic of him in the leather jacket and laying down and looking right into the camera upclose he looks like Roarke!! The beard stuble is nice too, kind of reminds me of some of the pics of Hugh we've seen.

Is that Diva show good?

Yes, Lisa, it's really cute. I didn't think I'd like it. I usually prefer well...other stuff (medical dramas, sci-fi, paranormal, "smart" comedies, etc...though I guess I'd place this in the "smart" comedy category. And what I mean by "smart" is that they don't make a freaking sex/toilet/inappropriate joke every two seconds. This one fits, or Katie and I would have turned it off one episode in. We watched 6 of them. Like I said, we're watching the rest of season 1 tomorrow.). It sort of reminds me of "Alley McBeal", just with better looking characters. (I said to Katie, I think they shopped "Cute Guys R Us" for this show. All of the men on the show are ridiculously cute. I especially love her guardian angel...who hooks up with her best friend. He's SO adorable. His name is Fred.). It's set in a law firm, and quirkiness and hilarity abound. I'd set the show up for you, but you'd do better reading the tags at IMDB or something. I've just started watching it today. I'm just SO in love with the "Grayson" character (played by Hurst). All I'm saying is this guy has potential. Even more than Matt Bomer (no dent in Jackson's chin!).

I haven't given an opinion on a candidate for Roarke in a LOOOOOONG time! And then it was probably over on Adwoff. But I must say that Jackson Hurst seems to have ALL the right stuff.
Good choice, Jen!

Yes, his name is Grayson Kent. I told Kd that I LOVED that name, and suggested it for a boy's name...she actually thought it was a cute name. (please help me, they're gonna name the baby "Bear" if it's a boy and I don't know if I could handle it! YIKES. Katie wants the name and Nick keeps going on and on about Bear Bryant, the football player/announcer. I keep telling him "Yeah, that was his NICKNAME! Name your kid something normal, and then give him the "nickname" Bear. I'd be down with that!" (as aunt Jennie cringes and cries.). *sigh* Why don't they just name the kid "Barry" and make his life miserable? I don't know. :annoyed: *ahem* Anyways. Not my kid, not my place. but...*whimper*.....

Anyways, the show is on Lifetime at 9 pm on Sundays, apparently. I only heard about it when I checked out the "marathon" of Nora's movies airing on Lifetime. I watched CI, and they were airing ads for it. Then, during the marathon, they aired ads for the season premiere. I didn't pay much attention, because I was planning to watch "Fallen Skies" (which I loved) on TNT. So, my plan is to catch up on THIS show, and decide which one to watch online.

You never asked yourself, not even once, if I made a play for you because of the money?
You didn't make a play for me. I made the play....
It was you, Lieutenant, who fell into my guile, after I gave you a bloody good shove.

Way to go, Jen. Finally, a top contender for Roarke. That photo of him , laying down in the black leather jacket- hot, holy momma, I need to enlarge that one. If that photo doesn't scream Roarke, then what does? I saw the promos for Drop Dead Diva, but as I'm watching too much cable, I didn't want to start w/a new show. But that's all changed now- can't wait to see him in action.

BTW, what is IMDB? also, re: Matt Bomer, as much as I love him in White Collar, and think he's charming etc, now that I found out he's gay, it kind of ruins him as my Roarke (besides the fact he's too short). I like your Jackson Hurst much better. Great find.

Matt Bomer's gay? Really? Another one bites the dust, I guess! (why are all the super hot guys gay? Unfair, God. Unfair.). ETA: Okay, he "refuses to comment on all of that". Tom Cruise did that for years, and he's straight, obviously. That doesn't mean Matt's gay. I honestly don't care if he is or not, he's still hot and a great actor, but until he "comes out", it's his beeswax, IMO. I really despise the rumor spreading about actors. Until it's confirmed, by the actor, I wish it wouldn't be talked about, especially when it comes to sexual orientation, pregnancies, sex in general  . But whatever. ;) Maybe I'm a prude.

IMDB is the "Internet Movie Data Base" (I think that's what it stands for anyways). GREAT site! Tells you everything and anything you wanna know about pretty much any actor. I LOVE that site (I'll warn you though, their messageboards get really heated and stupid. ;) I was ready to KILL somebody on the ER boards tonight. They have no rules, let's just put it that way....this kid said something about one of the characters needing to be "Rihanned"...meaning beaten in the face....and I about flipped my lid. He/she then called me a "faggot" and a "bitch" after calling them out for using a REAL person's pain and humiliation as a "joke" to put down a fictional character. ;) Nice language and conversation eh? Sometimes, I just love the internet. Oy).

Anyways, check Drop Dead Diva out. REALLY cute show.

Lisa, I just got your PM, sorry, been a busy day. I'll try and answer it tomorrow!

Hm. Yeah, I could actually see it. I'd have to see him act and hear his voice, because the voice is big for me, but physically he's dead-on.

I agree he's a very attractive man! That close-up pic of him--yumm! :thumbs-up:

Still, the mouth, is not a poet's mouth. Hugh Jackman doesn't have a true poet's mouth (needs more curve). However, (despite wrong eye color) Hugh is closer to how I see Roarke. Just my opinion, of course! :twocents:

Yes, but what IS a "poet's mouth" exactly? Is it Shakespeare's lips? Yeats'? Jackson's mouth looks plenty poety to me. :P

I think it's the eyes that get me. They're SO intensely blue.

AJ, his voice is pretty sexy, but he's an American. I would hope he'd be able to do an Irish accent (and do it well), because this guy really does do it for me.
