Here's one I'm not sure about. It is a little stupid but I thought I'd throw it up here. I have one that I really like that I'm going to clean up and post sometime today

623 second street, midtown new York.
Roarke stood, his head in his hands as he held the key card to his own business location. He no longer had to work out of that stupid fucking rent-an-office where the lighting sucked and the noise almost unbearable. With a shake of his head and a quick glance to make sure no one was watching he swiped the card and was gained access. With a smile greener than Ireland he walked in. The place used to be an inbound link call center. He had seen it two weeks prior and was assured that all the equipment such as desks, seating and room dividers were all included.
He walked into an empty room.
Someone had taken the freaking tile up off the floor. Parts of the wall were missing and showing the wires that should have been hidden.
How long he stood there and gaped at the mess he wasn't sure. Not only did he not have all the fucking insurance but there was nothing he would be able to do to get it back.
Just fucking great.
Six hours later Summerset came to the location to see it for himself. He had brought a few brooms and a box of garbage bags at Roarke's request. He chuckled a little thinking how baffled the boy had sounded that someone had stolen his things. His own carefully guarded things. Ever since Marlena's death he had been more careful. More distant even with him and they were as close as father and son.
It was the way Roarke almost hoarded things now. As he had a job managing a hotel cleaning staff of 40 he didn't see Roarke as much as he used to. But as they both started to make some decent cash and move from the one bedroom dump on the west side to a two bedroom in the village, he began to notice, the crap box mattress that Roarke had been sleeping on was packed along to take even though he had a new proper bed at the new place. And Roarke had inquired about purchasing the dump. Summerset had put his foot down and remained unmoving through the tantrum he hadn't seen the boy pull in over a decade.
He turned one way then the other and palmed a master through and it opened to let him in. He walked in and had to laugh. Roarke was standing in the middle of the room with a broom in his hands, there was a huge tear on the sleeve of his white shirt and soot on the back. He cursed and muttered in colorful Gaelic as he swept crap up into a pile. There was nothing left in the office. Roarke turned and shot him a glare, his face contorted with rage as he continued to 'clean'. The boy was going to have to learn to get his emotions under control. He had come a long way in the past few years but if he wanted to fit into the hard corporate world he had to ruthlessly tame the beast.
They had cleaned for hours. They had a pizza delivered and tided late into the night, making notes on what they would need to replace and buy and whatnot. Roarke cringed at the list and wondered what he could get at discount store. He cringed again as he had vowed to never shop at those places again. He hated the smell, someone didn't want the stuff, it was used. He wanted his own things, things that others didn't use first. It made him so mad sometimes that he wanted to scream.
But he didn't.
He knew that he had to keep his emotions under a veneer of control. Crazy Irishmen did not end up millionaires, they ended up drunk in bars, or dead in an alleyway with a knife in your throat. He had a flash of his father, his face, lying in the alley covered in his own filth, dead.
He vowed not to end up like that. There was a knock on the front door and he opened it to see the fucking cops. Well a cop, the other one was presumably around back. He explained his predicament, said he didn't want to file any report and the officer called his companion back.
"10 4"
Roarke was slightly disappointed that it was this man and not the woman on the radio who came to the door. He watched as the officer retreated and presumably explained the situation
"What do you mean he doesn't want to file a report? What sort of idiot doesn't want to file a report?" the woman's back was to him and he chuckled as he watched her storm off to the vehicle
The male officer returned to him and smiled a little at Roarke's inquiring glance "she's new" and Roarke nodded in understanding.
"I heard that." Came a mutter from his radio and the officer laughed
"Jesus" he muttered and bid Roarke a good night. "Christ Dallas not everyone wants to get us involved."
"Then they are morons." She muttered loud enough for him to hear. It put a smile on his face for the first time in hours.
It was an odd thought that it was a cop that made him smile for the first time in hours. He turned back to his new office, well what was left of it anyway with a lighter heart and a new determination.
"What did the Officer say?" Summerset asked him, watching the small grin still lingering on his face. Roarke shrugged, his young age showing as he recalled what had just happened.
"Managed to piss off a Rookie cop without even laying eyes on her because I won't file a report. I was called an idiot and a moron."
Summerset chuckled. "Sounds like the two of you would get along fabulously if she was not a cop. Lets finish up here and head home. I have the early shift tomorrow."
